It is an initiative devoted to organize and manage large interdisciplinary research projects, seeking innovative solutions with high impact in science, in the economy and society, building multidisciplinary, in a public and private network.
It’s mission is to contribute to raising the impact of knowledge and innovation of science, contribution to the increase of prosperity and sustainability of society.

IRIS shall be able to:
- identify opportunities and promote the elaboration of projects of high technological, economic and social impact;
- attract resources from the private initiative and the international circuit for financing research;
- manage these projects following the highest standards of excellence and transparency, ensuring the transfer of results to society.
